Genshin Impact — The Daily and Weekly Routine

The handful of things worth doing every day, what unlocks them, and what to leave alone until later.

Before you spend anything

Wishes unlock at around Adventure Rank 5, on completing the Archon Quest *Knights of Favonius* in Prologue Act I. There is no benefit to pulling before the game has finished handing you its opening rewards.

Your first resin belongs in Ley Line Blossoms — the ones that pay Mora and character EXP. That is what you are short of in week one, and nothing else you can spend on will fix it faster.

The daily routine

  • Spend resin before it caps. The cap is 200 and a day produces 180, so you have slightly over a day of slack. It is not a leash, but it is not indefinite either.
  • Do your four commissions. Each daily reset gives you four, and four is also the maximum you can claim rewards for in a day. They unlock at Adventure Rank 12, after the World Quest *Every Day a New Adventure* — if you cannot find them, that is why.
  • Claim the commission bonus from Katheryne once all four are done. It is a separate step and it is easy to walk away without it.
  • Check the Battle Pass missions if you are running one.

The weekly routine

Weekly bosses cost 30 resin for the first three, and 60 for each one after. The three cheap runs reset every week and do not accumulate, so they are the closest thing in the game to free value going unclaimed.

What to leave alone early

Do not pour resources into artifacts yet. They will be replaced repeatedly while your World Level is still climbing, and the resin spent on them is gone. Character levels, weapon levels and talents all survive; artifacts at this stage do not.

Domains cost 20 resin a run, or 40 for double rewards. Once you are farming seriously, doubling is usually the better trade — fewer loading screens for the same resin.

Free characters are worth building

Noelle, Barbara and Xiangling all arrive free through normal early progression, and all three are genuinely good — not filler to be replaced the moment a five-star shows up. A well-built four-star clears content that a level-40 five-star will not.

The most expensive mistake available to you in the first fortnight is not a bad pull. It is spreading resin thin across six half-built characters and ending up with no team strong enough to farm with.

Where this comes from

The numbers here were read from these pages on September 5, 2026. Games patch, and a guide is only as current as the last time somebody checked it — so if something below disagrees with what you see in game, the game is right.
